Believe In Yourself
Fellow Readers,
As Benjamin Franklin wisely said,
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
These words hold profound truth when it comes to the impact of mentors in our lives. Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to have different mentors in various stages, each serving a unique purpose. Allow me to share some of these cherished experiences. My first mentor was my school teacher, Bharti miss. As my drawing teacher and inspiration, she not only taught me how to handle a pencil but also instilled confidence in me. During an annual fest, she entrusted me with the responsibility of decorating the stage, making me the head of the volunteers. Despite my initial hesitation, Bharti miss believed in my potential. With her support, I surpassed my own expectations and received accolades from my school principal. It was a turning point that I still cherish, and I credit Bharti miss for making it possible.Upon joining Toastmasters, I met my second mentor, Shashank Arya, the Areas Director of H5. Struggling with my first speech, I reached out to him, contemplating quitting the journey. However, instead of dismissing my concerns, he guided me differently. Shashank encouraged me to share a personal story, and with his mentorship, my speech was ready within a day, and I even won the best speaker award. Like a seasoned cyclist, Shashank held onto me until I found my balance, and now, he continues to provide guidance whenever I need it.Beyond Shashank, there is my "dark knight" mentor, Rohit Yadav, who has been my guiding light since my TCS Nagpur days. Despite the distance, he remains invested in my growth, reviewing each of my speeches, and pushing me to improve continually.Moving to Mumbai, I thought I might never find a mentor like the ones I had before. However, Nayan Jain, from TMTC, proved me wrong. Although initially reserved, Nayan's support helped me embrace new opportunities, such as joining the communiqué team for designing purposes. Though I had no experience in newsletter design, Nayan's belief in me allowed me to design the entire newsletter successfully. His guidance extended to my role as Vp- PR, leading our club to win the Flyer of Jan contest.Mentors have their unique ways of inspiring growth and success. Bharti miss ignited my creative confidence; Shashank guided me through my first speech; Rohit continues to be my unwavering support, even from miles away, and Nayan consistently pushes me out of my comfort zone.Today, I stand confidently before you, not solely due to my own efforts, but because of these pillars in my life who have stood strong and helped me face my fears, becoming a better version of myself.Let us remember the invaluable role of mentors in our lives and be grateful for the guidance and encouragement they provide. May we, too, become guiding lights for others, passing on the wisdom we have received. Together, let's make it happen!
